Breast Enhancement/Nipple & Areola Restoration

Breast Reductions & Lifts

Breast reductions and breast lifts are procedures that can reshape and improve the aesthetic appearance of the breasts.

Breast reduction, or reduction mammoplasty, removes breast tissue to reduce the overall size of the breast while also lifting the breast. This procedure can reduce pain or discomfort associated with large breasts. Breast reduction minimizes sagging and gives the breasts a more youthful appearance.

Breast lift, or mastopexy, lifts the breast tissue and tightens the breast skin to reduce sagging, giving the breasts a more youthful appearance. The volume of the breast is maintained.

The position of the nipple and areola is often adjusted for both procedures as well.

In partial breast reconstruction, breast reductions and breast lifts help to reshape the affected breast (by closing down the defect cavity) and restore balance between the two breasts but reshaping the opposite breast. They can also be performed on the opposite breast after a unilateral mastectomy and reconstruction to improve symmetry between the breasts.

Although lifts and reduction are used as cosmetic procedures, they are typically covered by insurance as part of breast reconstruction. This coverage includes procedures on a noncancerous breast to restore symmetry between breasts

Fat Transfer & Liposuction

Fat transfer and liposuction involve taking fat from one area of the body and relocating it to the breast. These procedures remove excess fat while improving the breast’s aesthetic appearance.

Switching Between Saline & Silicone

Silicone implants have a more natural texture than saline implants. Saline implants can be swapped out for silicone implants to give the breast a more natural feel.

Scar Revision

Some women who have undergone mastectomy and even prior reconstruction are sometimes left with highly visible scars. Scar revision surgery does not eliminate scars but may improve or minimize a scar’s appearance.

Nipple & Areola Reconstruction

In some cases, a woman’s nipple and areola are removed during mastectomy. Reconstructing a nipple and areola on top of the new breast mound restores the appearance of the breast.

Nipple & Areola Tattooing

Medical tattooing can be used in conjunction with surgical nipple and areola reconstruction or on its own. Tattooing adds coloration and can even recreate the look of a 3-dimensional nipple on flat skin.

Dr. Smith was very, very nice and friendly. He was very down to earth compared to some doctors. He's knowledgeable, of course. His credentials definitely spoke volumes.

He's even more impressive than I had first thought. He is very direct and he's smart. And he will explain things to you.

Rachel F.

It's very important to me to have good bedside manner. And [Dr. Smith] took the time. He made me feel like he could do this 1-2-3, and I'd be good to go.
