He teaches as a full Professor of Surgery at Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine, is an avid tennis player, and gives back to the community through his philanthropy work.

For over 20 years, Dr. Smith has dedicated his time, energy, and surgical skills to helping others. He has traveled worldwide to perform reconstructive surgery and teach international colleagues. In addition to his numerous overseas trips for personal volunteer work, Dr. Smith has collaborated with organizations such as Rainforest Health Project and Healing the Children.
